Global Conference on Business Management & Social Sciences (GCBMS-2016)
Academy of Business Management meeting titled “Global Conference on Business Management & Social Sciences (GCBMS-2016) conducted on 28-29 January 2016. Conference was inaugurated with key note address of internationally renowned economist, statistician and academician Prof. Zaffar M. Nasir. GCBMS received overwhelming response from 25 nations. 105 abstracts and 67 papers were submitted, after comprehensive review 18 papers were selected for presentation in presence and 40 papers were selected for online conference presentations. In the gathering triangulated approach was adopted to bridge gap between industry, academia and research. People from industry participated in the conference with an intention to seek solutions from the research presented by researchers. Research contributions presented at GCBMS-2016 will definitely add valuable to the existing body of research in the versatile field of business management and Social Sciences. Following the tradition this conference was a unique opportunity for researchers and professionals to exchange ideas and learning about each other’s research work. Researchers/professors and consultants presenting papers were from renowned universities and corporate sector of United States of America, Kuwait, Estonia, Iran, India, Nigeria, Bulgaria, Oman, Morocco, United Arab Emirates and Egypt.
Key Note Speaker Zaffar M. Nasar, PhD
Dr. Nasar is Professor in the College of Business, University of Modern Sciences, before this he served at American University in the Emirates (AUE) as Dean of College of Business. He has also served as Professor of Economics/Chief of Research and Dean at Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE); besides, he worked in the Government of Pakistan as Director General for Policies in the Policy Planning Cell. In 2010, he was appointed Director on the Board of Directors of National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC) by the Prime Minister of Pakistan. Dr. Nasar also worked on research projects financed by World Bank, IMF, Asian Development Bank, United Nation (UNICEF, ILO, UNHCR, and UNDP), and International Development Research Centre (IDRC). He has published many research article in high ranked journals and advised more than 50 PhD/MS students.
